What are Mitala candles made of? Every Mitala candle is crafted with 100% eco-friendly soy wax, cotton wicks, and premium, phthalate-free fragrance oils. Our formulas are vegan, cruelty-free, and completely free from parabens, phthalates, paraffin wax, synthetic dyes, and artificial colorants.
Are Mitala candles paraffin-free? Yes. We never use paraffin wax or petroleum-based blends of any kind. Every Mitala Candle Co. candle is made exclusively with 100% natural soy wax for a cleaner, slower-burning, and more eco-friendly alternative to traditional paraffin candles.
Do Mitala candles contain synthetic dyes or artificial colorants? No. Mitala Candle Co. does not use synthetic dyes, artificial colorants, or chemical pigments in any of our formulas. Our candles are intentionally undyed, allowing the natural, creamy color of pure soy wax to speak for itself.
Are your candles handmade? Yes. Each candle is meticulously hand-poured in small batches in Brooklyn, NY, ensuring consistency, quality, and care in every jar.
How long do Mitala candles burn? Our signature 2-wick 12oz candles offer up to 70 hours of clean, even burn time thanks to the slow-burning nature of soy wax.

CANDLE PERFORMANCE
Will my candle fill the entire room with fragrance? Yes. Our double-wick jars are designed for an even, balanced scent throw that fills medium to large spaces with refined fragrance, not too faint, never overpowering.
How strong is the scent throw? Our premium, phthalate-free fragrance oils are carefully dosed to deliver a sophisticated, room-filling scent that is noticeable without being overwhelming. The clean soy wax base allows the fragrance to diffuse evenly throughout your space.
Do your candles produce soot or smoke? When properly cared for, our 100% cotton wicks create a soot-free, clean burn. Always trim your wicks and follow our Candle Care Guide for optimal performance.
Do your candles tunnel? No. When you allow a full melt pool on the first burn (typically 2–3 hours), our soy wax candles burn evenly to the edges, preventing tunneling and maximizing your burn time.

Are your candles safe for people with allergies or sensitivities? Our candles are formulated with clean, phthalate-free fragrance oils and soy wax, free from paraffin, synthetic dyes, and artificial colorants. While safe for most, we recommend trying our Discovery Set if you have heightened sensitivities.
Are your fragrance oils safe and non-toxic? Yes. We use only premium, carefully vetted fragrance oils that are 100% phthalate-free, paraben-free, and free from synthetic dyes and artificial colorants. We never compromise on ingredient safety.
Do your candles contain essential oils? Some fragrances contain essential oil components, expertly blended with safe aroma compounds to create stable, complex, long-lasting scents.
Are Mitala candles safe around pets or children?Our candles are made with non-toxic, paraffin-free, phthalate-free soy wax and clean fragrance oils. We stick entirely to pure vegan soy wax to guarantee a slower, cleaner, and more eco-friendly burn compared to traditional paraffin options.
Are your candle vessels sustainable and reusable?Yes. Our minimalist signature black candle jars are made from eco-luxury, premium glass designed with sustainability in mind. Once your soy candle has finished its clean burn, the remaining wax easily washes out with warm water and soap, allowing you to seamlessly recycle or repurpose the luxury container for home decor.
Is Mitala Candle Co. a vegan and cruelty-free brand? Yes. All of our handcrafted luxury candles, signature scent discovery sets, and home accessories are 100% vegan and entirely cruelty-free. We never conduct or endorse animal testing on any of our raw ingredients or finished fragrance collections.
CANDLE CARE & USE
How do I care for my candle? To ensure the best burn:
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use
- Allow a full melt pool on the first burn to prevent tunneling
- Limit burns to 4 hours at a time
- Discontinue use when ½ inch of wax remains
How do I choose the perfect scent? Our Discovery Set includes 8 curated mini candles, allowing you to explore our full collection and find your signature fragrance.
How should I store my candles? Keep candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat to maintain wax integrity and fragrance quality.
Can I customize a candle with my own scent? At this time, we do not offer custom blends. However, we frequently release limited-edition seasonal scents, join our mailing list to stay updated.
PACKAGING & REUSE

ORDERS & SHIPPING
How long will it take to process my order? Orders are processed within 1-3 business days. During peak seasons, please allow extra time.
Do you offer free shipping? Yes. We offer complimentary standard shipping on all U.S. orders, with no minimum purchase required.
Do you offer international shipping? Yes. We ship worldwide via UPS and USPS International. Duties and taxes are calculated at checkout where applicable.
Can I track my order? Yes. Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number via email so you can follow your package every step of the way.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged? Contact us at hello@mitalacandleco.com with photos within 7 days, and we'll quickly arrange a replacement or refund.
RETURNS & REFUNDS
What is your return policy? Unused, unopened items may be returned within 7 days for a full refund. Final sale items are non-returnable.
Can I return a used candle? Due to the nature of our product, we cannot accept returns on used candles. If there's an issue, contact us, we'll make it right.
How do I initiate a return? Email hello@mitalacandleco.com with your order number and reason for return with 7 days of receiving your order. You'll receive a response within 1–2 business days.
How long does it take to receive a refund? Refunds are processed within 10 business days after approval. Your bank may require additional time to post the refund.
